The Christie Mountain Wildfire isn't the threat it was just weeks ago, but it's still burning and people need to be mindful of crews working to snuff out what's left.

The B.C. Wildfire Service said that an increased number of people have been attempting to access the parks and trails in the vicinity of the Christie Mountain wildfire.

"A reminder to residents and visitors that there is still an Area Restriction in place," reads the Tweet.

The fire is now mapped at 2,122.5 hectares and.11 wildfire service crew members have been assigned to mop up the small excursion identified on Aug 29.

"An excursion is a fire management term that means an unplanned but acceptable enlargement of the area which does not greatly affect any values and involves a minimum of suppression effort," wildfire staff said in the Aug. 30 update.

This fire is currently being held.
