Toys “R” Us is reopening in Kamloops in a new location after it closed in January last year when the lease expired.

The new store is opening in the former Bed Bath and Beyond location in Sahali this summer, one of 11 new stores opening in former Bed Bath and Beyond locations across the country this year, including two Babies “R” Us stores, according to a media release by Toys "R" Us Canada issued today, May 17.

Bed, Bath & Beyond department stores in Canada closed a few months ago due to financial trouble, which included the Kamloops location.

The new Toys "R" Us in Kamloops —  at 300-500 Notre Dame Drive — will be 25,000 square feet in size.

Other Toys "R" Us locations opening in B.C. this year are in Burnaby and Victoria. Four are opening in Alberta, two in Ontario, one in Quebec and one in Nova Scotia bringing the total number of stores in Canada to 107.
