Olivia and Liam take top spot for baby names in Ontario for second year in a row

TORONTO - If you named your daughter Olivia this year, she'll have lots of company when she starts school.

It was the most popular name for girls born in Ontario since 2008, while Liam was the favourite for boys for a second year in a row.

Emma, Sophia and Ava took the second, third and fourth spots for girls' names for the second year running.

Ethan, Jacob and Lucas also took second, third and fourth place for two years straight on the boys' side.

Fifth spot for girls' names went to Emily and Benjamin was fifth for boys.

Ontario gives parents up to a year to register their newborn's birth online, with birth certificates guaranteed to be mailed within 15 business days or they're free.
