KELOWNA - Kelowna Mounties are looking for information that could help them solve a summer hit and run.

Mounties responded Aug. 17 at 6:40 p.m. to a report of a pedestrian struck by a motor vehicle on Bernard Avenue near Lakeview Street.  When police arrived, they located an injured pedestrian with serious injuries and were transported to the hospital.  The vehicle involved in the collision fled the scene prior to police arrival.

“The vehicle involved was described to be an older model grey Ford Focus sedan and was last seen driving eastbound up Bernard Avenue,” Cpl. Meghan Foster said, in a press release. “The front bumper, hood and windshield were noticeably damaged as a result of the collision. Anyone that may have seen this vehicle in the following hours is asked to contact police.”

The Kelowna RCMP Municipal Traffic Services Section has taken control of the investigation and continues to gather and process evidence. The injured pedestrian has since been released from hospital and has support from family.

Anyone with any information can also contact the Kelowna RCMP at 250-762-3300. Or remain completely anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or by leaving a tip online at www.crimestoppers.net
