PENTICTON –The British Columbia Hockey League announced its award winners for the 2013-2014 season, and three Vees took my hardware.

For the third consecutive season, a Vee was named the league’s top defensemen, as Brett Beauvais was voted the top rear-guard in the BCHL. Beauvais led all BCHL defensemen in scoring with 13 goals and 58 points in 57 games; 10 points better than the second-highest scoring defenseman in the BCHL. Beauvais also finished second in the league in power-play assists with 25.

For the second straight year, the Vees were awarded the Wally Forslund Trophy, as having the BCHL’s Top Goaltending tandem. The trophy is handed out to the goaltending duo that combines to post the lowest goals-against average in the regular season. Olivier Mantha and Hunter Miska combined for a 2.27 goals-against average. Chad Katunar and Nic Renyard won the award last year and Alex Evin and Bryan Mountain won the award six years ago.

The Vees organization would like to congratulate Brett, Hunter and Olivier and all the 2013-2014 BCHL award winners.
