PENTICTON - A serious collision that shut down Highway 3A between Keremeos and Highway 97 yesterday afternoon sent three people to hospital.
RCMP say the crash happened around 12:45 p.m., May 12, when a westbound 2003 Corvette travelling through Olalla collided with an eastbound 2010 Pontiac G3 that was making a left turn in front of the Corvette.
The 60-year-old Osoyoos man behind the wheel of the Corvette was airlifted to Kelowna General Hospital in critical condition, according to a RCMP media release.
The driver of the Pontiac, a 56-year-old Hedley woman, was taken to Penticton Regional Hospital by ambulance with "moderate injuries," police say.
A 40-year-old Osoyoos woman, who was a passenger in the Corvette, was taken to hospital also with moderate injuries.
The highway was closed for several hours.
Police would like to talk to witnesses to the crash. If you haven't yet spoken with police you are asked to call the RCMP's South Okanagan Traffic Services in Penticton at 250-499-2250.
