Three people escape from a burning travel trailer east of Kelowna

Two men allegedly attacked three people and tried to burn them inside a travel trailer in the Greystokes area east of Kelowna yesterday, July 23.

Two Kelowna men, aged 29 and 44, were found with minor injuries on Three Forks Road just after 1:30 p.m. after fire and emergency crews were called, according to a West Kelowna RCMP news release.

The men said they, and a 30-year-old women, had been attacked and the travel trailer was set on fire. The woman ran into the forest immediately after the incident and wasn’t found by Central Okanagan Search And Rescue until 7 p.m.

“Officers remain on scene conducting their investigation, and gathering physical evidence,” Cpl. Jocelyn Noseworthy, media relations officer for the Kelowna RCMP, said in the news release. “The investigation is still in its early stages and officers will be in the area for an undetermined period of time.”

Anyone with information is asked to call the West Kelowna RCMP General Investigation Section at 250-768-2880, Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or by leaving a tip online at www.crimestoppers.net.
