WILLIAMS LAKE - The B.C. SPCA is looking for some help with one of it’s three legged friends.

Sketch the kitten was found near Williams Lake, along with his mother and siblings, in an empty barn, according to a media release. He was born missing most of one of his paws, but kept trying to walk on all four legs.

Because he tried to walk normally, he damaged his leg and needed to have part of it amputated.

“Amputation was the only option, but this brave little guy can still live a full and active life as a ‘tri-pawed’ member of the family,” Williams Lake Branch manager Liz Dighton says in the release..

The cost of the surgery is around $2,000.

Sketch is recovering well and will be ready for a new home in a few weeks.

The organization is collecting donations to help cover Sketch’s surgery and similar medical expenses. Donations can be made online here.
