A house on Teresa Road in Lake Country was pretty much destroyed by fire this morning.
Lake Country fire chief Steve Windsor said the call came in at about 6 a.m. today, July 7, and the fire was “fully involved” with flames into the roof when crews arrived.
Four adults living in the upstairs part of the house were able to get out with their two dogs. One of their two cats was found alive but the other died.
The two residents in the downstairs suite were away on a camping trip but their two cats perished, Windsor said.
The cause of the fire is undetermined at this point but Windsor expects, with the four people having been present, they should get a good indication of how it started.
He said the house was pretty much a write off.
