VERNON – An early morning fire at a Vernon boat dealership today left three boats damaged, one of them was destroyed.

Vernon Fire Rescue Capt. Dan Walker says crews were called to the blaze at 3001 43 Ave. around 3:08 a.m., May 30.

When firefighters arrived at Banner Recreation Products they found one boat fully involved and two others exposed to the flames.

Walker says the blaze was knocked down and put out quickly.

“Right now the cause of the fire is under investigation with Vernon Fire Rescue and the RCMP,” he says. “They are on the scene as we speak... sifting through what’s left.”

Walker points out there are a number of potential causes of fire on a boat.
