KELOWNA - Liam Park and his fiancee Kitty Bent woke up to a nasty birthday surprise this morning, finding their business raided and robbed.

Park runs Holy Crow Tattoo, a tattoo parlour near Capri Centre Mall. He planned to celebrate Bent's 23rd birthday today, May 17, but instead he found thousands of dollars worth of equipment stolen.

Holy Crow has only been open for a week. Park said they've had to jump through legal hoops to get their business off the ground. Now one thief has stolen inks, tubes, needles and machines valued between $6000 and $8000. A friend who left his machines at the parlor was also robbed.

Park, who said he was still shaking from adrenaline this morning, discovered the theft when the camera he set up in the parlour alerted him. It showed a blurry image of a man pilfering the area between 3:43 a.m. and 3:56 a.m. The door was smashed in and a muddy footprint was left behind.

Police attended the scene and dusted for fingerprints.

The couple have set up a GoFundMe page to cover the damages, much of which they'll have to pay since they don't have insurance coverage.
