Lilllooet RCMP officers saw the busiest summer in terms of calls in the last three years.
The highest number of calls, 63, were for wellness checks, according to the detachment’s summer summary. Sixty calls were for suspicious people or vehicles.
There were 33 calls for assault. Many of the overall calls, 47, were for false alarms, while another 20 were for false 9-1-1 calls.
Police dealt with 30 mental health calls, 20 for people being intoxicated in public, and 19 disturbances. There were 29 vehicle collisions, four vehicle thefts and two bike thefts.
There were 15 cases of theft under $5,000 and two calls for theft over $5,000. There were break and enters at two residential properties and four businesses.
And there were three cases of missing people.

The number of calls between June 21 and Sept. 30 is increasing in Lillooet. There were 849 calls in 2022 compared to 867 calls during the same period last year. In 2020 there were only 677 calls, however that was during the first year of pandemic lockdowns, according to the RCMP's news release.
Local police regularly monitor Downton Park where there’s an ongoing issue of people drinking alcohol, the RCMP reported.
“Police continue to make regular patrols at the park, and take enforcement actions under the Liquor Control and Licensing Act,” the summer summary says.
The RCMP also said property crime has become a focal point in communities of all sizes throughout the province.
