VERNON - There’s no shortage of things to do in Vernon for those staying in town over the long weekend.
For instance, you may want to check out the first Saturday Avenue Market downtown Vernon where sidewalks will be lined with everything from fashions to food, and Cenotaph Park will feature vendors, artisans and entertainment from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
On Monday, the Victoria Day and Green Thumb Festival is happening at the Vernon Farmers’ Market from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Kal Tire Place.
You could also try your hand at gold panning during the annual Gold Panning Championships at Riverside RV Park in Enderby. The event runs Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
There’s also lots going on for the Falkland Stampede, which runs May 21-23. The parade is Sunday at 1 p.m., and there are numerous rodeo events throughout the weekend.
