Thieves use stolen car to smash into Kelowna liquor store

KELOWNA – Suspects used a stolen car to smash their way into a Kelowna liquor store and steal the safe on Saturday.

RCMP were called to a break and enter at about 6:03 a.m., July 9, at the Reids Corner Liquor Store in the 3600-block of Highway 97 North.

A half hour earlier, a grey Volkswagen Jetta stolen from Ethel Street was used to smash into the store so the suspects could get inside, according to a RCMP media release.

The suspects, whose faces were covered, stole a wall safe, loaded it into a 1990s white Dodge Ram pickup truck and drove away.

Police are looking for two suspects. One was about 6’ tall with a thin build who was wearing gloves, a light coloured hoodie, jeans and running shoes.

The second suspect is also about 6’ tall and was wearing darker clothing with gloves and a hoodie.
