Police are searching for four suspects who allegedly stole 12 high-end sewing machines from a Kelowna business.
Today, Dec. 5, at roughly 10:20 a.m., Kelowna RCMP officers responded to a report of a break-in at a business in the 900 block of McCurdy Road.
The business owner told police his next door neighbour reported the front door of the business was wide open, according a press release issued by police.
The sewing machines are white and range in price from $6,000 to $25,000 and include brand names Janome, Pfaff and Baby Lock.
Surveillance video showed a large rental van arrive at the business at approximately 12:30 a.m. and four men gained entry through the front of the store. The men spent a significant amount of time removing the property before leaving, according to police.
“This theft was significant and has caused serious financial pressure on this local business trying to survive during these difficult times,” said Const. Mike Della-Paolera, media relations officer with the Kelowna RCMP, in the news release.
At this time there is limited surveillance with no suspects or witnesses. Police are asking those with any dash cam footage or who may have witnessed the crime to contact the Kelowna detachment at 250-762-3300 and reference file 2022-75032.
