Thieves break into Salmon Arm gas station

FILE PHOTO

Salmon Arm RCMP are investigating after an early morning break-in at a service station on the Trans-Canada Highway.

On Oct. 23 between 4 a.m. and 4:30 a.m. officers attended the scene of the crime after intrusion alarms were triggered, according to an RCMP media release.

Police say someone had broken into the store and damaged the ATM within in an attempt to grab some cash. RCMP don't say if any cash was taken.

A white pickup truck was seen on the surveillance video and police later found the vehicle at a nearby park, with no suspect in sight.

Officers determined it was a vehicle stolen from a rural area in Salmon Arm, although the owner was unaware it had been stolen.

No suspects have been arrested as the investigation continues.
