After about $1,000 worth of goods were stolen from two unlocked vehicles in West Kelowna last week, Crime Stoppers is reminding people to lock up their vehicles after driving.

According to Crime Stoppers Central Okanagan, two thefts from vehicles on Talavera Place in West Kelowna were reported Nov. 27.

"Suspects were able to find two unlocked vehicles, one of which contained a garage door opener used to gain entry to the garage," Crime Stoppers said in a Facebook post. "Suspects left that residence with approximately $1,000 worth of goods."

A wallet, ID and credit and debit cards were stolen from a neighbouring vehicle.

"No matter how safe you believe your neighbourhood to be, police recommend locking your car doors," Crime Stoppers said.
