CARIBOO/CHILCOTIN - An evacuation order has closed the Alexis Creek Health Centre.
An Interior Health release issued today, Aug. 13, says the Alexis Creek Health Centre has been closed indefinitely due to wildfire activity in the area.
Interior Health will continue to update residents on health services and the status of facilities as the wildfire situation changes.
The release advises that rural and remote residents should consider the following for health-care needs:

For non-urgent matters, individuals can access service through the West Chilcotin Health Centre in Tatla Lake.

In an emergency, call 9-1-1

If you’re unsure of your health care needs, please consider calling HealthLink BC at 8-1-1, to speak to a registered nurse, dietitian or pharmacist.
