KAMLOOPS - Terry Lowe and the staff at Volkswagen of Kamloops announced that this year’s VW Turtle River Race proceeds will again go to Western Canada Theatre. We at WCT are proud and excited to build on the success of last year and make the Turtle Race an even bigger and more engaging community event in our fifth year. The official launch was this morning at Save-On-Foods and included support from Bill Johnson, owner of Turtle Mountain Coffee Company.

Speedy Turtles are now available for sale. Adopt yours today. On Sunday, Sept. 20, thousands of turtles will race down the Thompson River in two separate heats, and the winning turtles’ owners will receive amazing prizes.

First place turtles receive:
• WestJet Flight for Two
• Rocky Mountaineer Silverleaf Trip for Two
• $1000 Save-On-Foods Gift Certificate
• $500 Surplus Herby’s Gift Certificate
• $500 Aberdeen Mall Shopping Spree

There are three incredible prize packages per race to be won. Plus, on the day, there is a free fun family event at the finish line in Pioneer Park. Join us noon to 3 p.m. on Sept. 20 for big prizes, a barbecue, games and live entertainment and to cheer on your turtle.

The Corporate Challenge:
We encourage all businesses to take part in the VW Turtle River Race Corporate Challenge this year. Last year's challenge helped to make WCT's fourth season with this event such a great success. Businesses are invited to purchase books of 10 tickets for $100.00 each for Race 1 and/or Race 2. Along with supporting a vital community organization, the tickets make great appreciation gifts for staff and/or clients. In exchange for your participation, you will be entered to win an exclusive Corporate Challenge prize package.
