VERNON - A well-known Vernon property could be in store for some changes.
First listed in 2015, the Green Valley Motel downtown Vernon now displays a sold sign.
When contacted, the realtor said the closing date for the sale is April 18 and declined to comment until that time.
It is unknown who may be buying the motel, which is located at the prominent corner of Highway 97 and 25 Avenue across from Polson Park, or what they plan to do with it.
The 0.55 acre property was on the market for $1,195,000 and is zoned community commercial, allowing it to be used for applications including government agencies, financial services, hotels and motels, according to the original listing.
In summer 2015, those living in the motel were given 60-day eviction notices.
The establishment was a frequent destination for Vernon RCMP with hundreds of calls for service there in recent years.
