A pop-up drive-in movie theatre is coming to Peachland.

Peachland residents will be able to enjoy Back to the Future and Toy Story 4 on the big screen at the former Turner Park, Friday, Sept. 11 and  Saturday, Sept 12. Gates open at 7:15 p.m. for both showings and tickets are available for purchase online through Eventbrite.

All proceeds will go towards the Peachland Food Bank, said Rick Ingram with the Peachland Recovery Task Force, which is organizing the event.

Fresh Air Cinema B.C., an outdoor cinema company, has been hosting outdoor screening events throughout the summer in the province, he said.

“So many events have had to be cancelled, from the Rubber Ducky Race to the Concerts in the Park and the outdoor cinema we have had the past few years,” Ingram said. “This is something to try to pick us up and to help the food bank that has since an increase in demand.”

The event is limited to 50 vehicles each night and tickets are by donation with a suggested donation price of $30.
