Temporary changes to RIH patient drop-off area

Royal Inland Hospital.

Royal Inland Hospital is making some temporary changes for how to access the patient drop-off area while work continues on the Patient Care Tower project.

Starting on May 4, a section of Upper Ring Road, which connects Third Avenue to the Royal Inland Hospital patient drop-off area, will be closed while a new water line and propane tank controls are installed.

During the construction, access to the patient drop-off roundabout will be via Fifth Avenue.

Traffic control flaggers and detour signs will be in place to direct vehicles to the area.

Work is expected to last a week and conclude on May 11. Although workers will be on-site from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day, the road will be closed for the entity of the construction period.

There will be no change in access to the public parkade at the Clinical Services Building or for over-height parking.
