KEREMEOS - One teenager was killed and another seriously injured following a single-vehicle collision near Keremeos on the weekend.
Officers were called to the rollover at the 2400 block of Upper Bench Road just before 2:30 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 30.
When they arrived police found the 17-year-old driver and 15-year-old female passenger had been ejected from the vehicle, an RCMP media release says.
The driver, who is from Olalla, was pronounced dead in hospital. The 15-year-old female suffered serious injuries.
The roadway was closed to traffic to allow a collision analyst and reconstructionist to assist in determining the collision, which remains under investigation, police say.
It is early in the investigation, however the driver and seriously injured passenger were believed not to have been wearing their seat belts at the time of the incident.
