One man arrested in connection to 2012 murder of 16-year-old B.C. girl

KAMLOOPS, B.C. - RCMP have arrested a 22-year-old man in connection with the murder of a 16-year-old aboriginal girl in Kamloops, B.C.

The body of Summer Star Elizabeth Krista-Lee Fowler — also known as C.J. — was found in a ravine on December 2012, though Mounties never revealed how the teen was killed.

Police said the girl was last seen walking down a main street to catch a bus to her Terrace home.

Mounties say at a news conference that they arrested 22-year-old Damien Taylor in Kelowna on Friday.

RCMP Supt. Brad Mueller says Taylor and Fowler appeared to have been dating at the time of her death.

Taylor is expected to appear in court tomorrow. (CHNL, The Canadian Press)
