KAMLOOPS - A teenaged girl has turned to social media in hopes of gaining more details about her biological mother as she plans to travel to Kamloops in search of her.

Katrina Ladouceur, 17, says she only has sparse knowledge of who her mother is and says she’s been searching for clues since she was 12 years old.

“I was adopted when I was under a year old and I went back into foster care when I was 10,” Ladouceur says. “When I was 12 I found out some information about my mom from a social worker. He told me she had blue eyes and that she plays guitar and sings on the street."

Ladouceur, who lives in Quesnel, says her mother’s name is Barbara Hamel but is unsure of the spelling. She says someone recently told her on Facebook they sold her mother a guitar six months ago and that she has short grey hair and metal framed glasses.
