KAMLOOPS, B.C.—Local author and teacher-librarian Dennis Staginnus of Kamloops, launched the sequel to his middle grade / young adult fantasy “The Raiders of Folklore” series on January 10, 2017 at the Kamloops School of the Arts Library. Local students and parents joined their school librarian to launch the sequel to his Raiders of Folklore Series.
Students at Kamloops School of the Arts and McGowan Park Elementary have long known their school librarian, Dennis Staginnus, was more than just your average librarian. Whether he is playing the part of a lightsaber wielding villain for the choir or creating digital scavenger hunts for their social studies units, he has always brought a lot of character to the school. That’s why, when he wrote his second book geared for teen readers, they wanted to celebrate with him as he introduced even more great characters to their lives.
The Emerald Dagger is the long awaited sequel to The Eye of Odin, a fantasy fiction for middle-school and young adult readers. Set in Istanbul, Turkey, The Emerald Dagger is a contemporary fantasy about two fifteen-year-olds, Sarah Finn and Grayle Rowen, and their continued search for the Eye of Odin—a mythical relic said to give its owner the power to see into the past, present, and future.
