KAMLOOPS - A crash between two Alberta drivers held up traffic in the westbound lane of the Trans Canada east of the Peterson Creek Bridge in Kamloops during the morning commute.

Capt. Troy Grant with Kamloops Fire Rescue says a Ford SUV and a Jeep collided on Hwy 1 near the Yellowhead off-ramp after the driver of the Jeep pulled out to pass a semi and in doing so wound up in the Ford driver's lane.

The Ford wound up pressed between the Jeep and the concrete highway barrier around 8:10 a.m., April 24.

Grant says no passengers were transported to hospital.

“It was fortunate the truck didn’t get forced over the post or it would have been pretty serious," he says.
