Suspicious house fire doused in Kelowna

A vacant house was extensively damaged in a suspicious fire in Kelowna last night.

Kelowna Fire Department was called out at 9:02 p.m. yesterday, Oct. 18, after numerous calls were made to 911 about a fire in the 100 block of Highway 33 East, according to a Kelowna Fire Department media release.

Firefighters arrived to find heavy black smoke and flames pouring out of the two-storey single-family home. They fought the blaze from the outside then moved inside when the fire got into the attic.

The fire is deemed suspicious and is being investigated today.
