OLIVER - Oliver fire crews saved an abandoned house from a complete fiery destruction last night, but questions remain over the cause of the suspicious blaze.

Bob Graham, fire chief for the Oliver Volunteer Fire Department, said they got a call about a house fire at approximately 2:30 a.m. on July 13. A vacant house on 555 Earle Crescent was fully englufed in flames when 20 firefighters arrived on the scene with four fire trucks.

Graham said the crews were able to stop the fire from utterly destroying the structure. They returned to the fire station by 5:30 a.m. No one was harmed by the flames.

An investigation into the fire is underway. Graham said the vacant house was marked as a "drug house" and the fire is believed to be suspicious.
