A BC vice principal who aggressively pushed a teenager trespasser when escorting them off school grounds has been suspended for a day.
The youth in question wasn't a pupil at the Sooke area school when they were found on the second-floor landing in early 2024.
Vice principal Ryan Aandy Hardath Dubé was called to remove them, and when he arrived, he found another vice principal walking the youth towards the stairs.
At this point, Dubé initiated "inappropriate physical contact" and "aggressively" pushed the teenager from behind.
School District No. 62 took action and suspended the vice principal for three days and referred the matter to the regulator.
The details are laid out in a Sept. 2 BC Commissioner for Teacher Regulation decision, and Dubé signed a consent agreement admitting to his behaviour.
"By initiating inappropriate physical contact, Dubé failed to role model appropriate behaviour," the regulator said in the decision.
The regulator said it is mitigating that Dubé showed concern for student and staff safety.
There's no information in the decision about who the youth was, or why they were on school property. There's also no indication of how the youth was behaving when asked to leave.
The decision saud the teenager was ultimately escorted from the school by Dubé and a colleague without further challenges.
Along with the suspension, Dubé was ordered by the school board to complete a De-Escalating Hostility course.
No other information was given in the decision.
