KELOWNA - The search is on for two suspects after a Mercedes was set ablaze early Tuesday night in Kelowna.
Just before 7 p.m., Jan. 5, a man looked outside his home in the 400 block of Sutton Crescent after hearing a loud crashing noise. He found his silver Mercedes CLK3 on fire.
RCMP and fire crews attended and the blaze was extinguished before it spread.
Police believe an accelerant may have been used to ignite the fire, which spread through the vehicle quickly.
Const. Jesse O’Donaghey says witnesses reported two suspects run up to the car, smash a window and place something inside, which lit the fire quickly. They were seen running towards Kane Road.
Both suspects are described as 5’10” tall with slim builds and dressed in all black.
O’Donaghey notes they continue to investigate this fire and one from the previous night, but there is nothing to link the two at this time.
