Suspected Tim Hortons robber arrested after public tips

RCMP have made an arrest in connection with the robbery of a Tim Hortons in West Kelowna.

WEST KELOWNA  - RCMP on the Westside have arrested a 21-year-old man in connection with a robbery at the Tim Hortons on Carrington Rd. Saturday night, March 28.

According to RCMP spokesman Cpl. Joe Duncan, the suspect is alleged to have covered his face and gone into the the restaurant with a weapon where he demanded money from a cashier. The man fled on foot with some cash but police would not say how much.

Police received the robbery report just before 11 p.m. and brought in the dog squad but were unable to locate the suspect.

However, police made an arrest the next day after tips from the public. They charged him with robbery and disguising his face with intent to commit robbery.

The man remains in police custody and will appear in court Thurs. April 2, however police are continuing their investigation into his possible link to robberies at the Super 8 motel and Superstore.
