Suspected Kamloops impaired driver crashes into his house

A suspected drunk driver crashed into his own house on Kamloops’s North Shore last night.

RCMP responded to the call at 5:45 p.m. yesterday, March 11, after a car drove over a lawn and into a house in the 200 block of Evans Avenue.

There was moderate damage to the car, and minor damage to the home, according to an RCMP media release. There was one other person in the residence at the time of the crash, but they were not injured.

The driver, who wasn't hurt, was given 90-day Immediate Roadside Prohibition and his vehicle was impounded.

“Fortunately, there were no injuries in this collision. Always have a plan to get yourself home safely after drinking. Consider taking a cab, public transportation or calling a friend or relative for a ride,” Kamloops RCMP Cpl. Jodi Shelkie said in the release.
