Suspected impaired driver rolls truck in Glenmore

KELOWNA – A suspected drunk driver was lucky to escape serious injury yesterday when he rolled his truck in the Glenmore area.

A media release from Kelowna RCMP Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey says witnesses saw the 31-year-old Kelowna man swerving moments before he lost control on Valley Road shortly before 6 p.m. Nov. 14.

“RCMP investigators entered into an impaired driving investigation as a result of observations made of the driver at the crash scene,” O’Donaghey says. “As a result, a demand was made and the male driver provided samples of his breath roadside, which resulted in a fail.”

Police arrived to the man being treated by paramedics but O’Donaghey says he was cleared to leave the hospital later that night.

He was issued a driving prohibition and faces fines and fees for driving while impaired.

RCMP are interested in hearing from any additional witnesses who have not yet spoken to police, those witnesses are asked to contact the Kelowna RCMP at 250-762-3300
