Two Vernon men were arrested early yesterday morning after a police officer noticed drug trafficking paraphernalia the vehicle during a traffic stop.

An officer pulled over a vehicle at around 3 a.m. yesterday, Oct. 10, in the 3400 block of 32 Street in Vernon, according to an RCMP media release.

The officer noticed several items “consistent with drug trafficking,” RCMP said. Drugs, cash, cell phones and bear spray were seized.

Both suspects were arrested for possession for the purpose of trafficking. The driver was prohibited from driving.

The 26-year-old driver and the 33-year-old passenger, both from Vernon, were released from custody with a court date as RCMP continue to investigate.
