A 30-year-old Kamloops man wanted by police for a mall robbery in April is now behind bars following his arrest yesterday.

Officers were called at about 12:35 p.m. yesterday, July 13, to a report of a suspicious man running from security guards around Highway 5A and Rogers Way, according to an RCMP media release.

After a foot chase, and with the help of a police dog, the suspect was arrested on Dalhousie Drive.

It turns out, the suspect was wanted on a warrant for an armed robbery on April 19 near the Aberdeen Mall.

A man had allegedly shown an employee at a retail store in the 1300 block of West Trans Canada Highway a gun in his waistband and got away with some merchandise.

The suspect fled in the area of Laval and Notre Dame Drive setting off a hold and secure at a nearby school. Police arrested the suspect but he was later released and a different suspect was identified.

Kyle Jordon Deline, 30, of Kamloops was also wanted on a warrant out of New Westminster.

Deline remains is in custody waiting for a court appearance.

Anyone with information related to the July 13 occurrence is asked to contact Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000 and reference file number 2021-23798.
