Suspect in custody after smash and grab at Coldstream business

A suspect is in custody after a smash and grab at a Coldstream business early Monday morning.

Vernon RCMP officers were called to a glass break alarm at approximately 2 a.m., Nov. 25, at a business in the 9900 block of Kalamalka Road, according to an RCMP media release.

RCMP don’t identify the business.

Arriving officer found the glass in the business’s front door had been smashed and merchandise was missing.

Police identified a suspect and a suspect vehcicle with the business’s surveillance video.

A short time later, the vehicle was found parked in the same community and officers “discovered evidence they believed to be linked to the earlier break-in,” RCMP said in the release.

One person was arrested and remains in custody as the investigation continues.
