April 21, 2021 - 10:28 AM

Kamloops RCMP have identified a suspect involved in a stabbing at the Star Lodge motel yesterday afternoon.

Police have determined the two people involved in the incident are known to each other, and what started as a fight, escalated into the assault, according to an RCMP media release.

They responded to the Star Lodge yesterday, April 20, around 3:30 p.m., after reports of a fight.

Police found a man in his 50s with stab wounds, but conscious, who was then transported to hospital.

“We are asking anyone who was at the Star Lodge, walking in the area, or driving by and witnessed anything related to this incident to please contact police if you haven’t spoken to them already,” Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Const. Crystal Evelyn said in the release.
