A Kamloops man didn't get far after robbing a North Shore store Sunday night.
Officers caught a 38-year-old suspect shortly after he fled a store where he had threatened an employee with a weapon and demanded cash, according to an RCMP news release.
RCMP responded around 8:15 p.m. Sunday, April 23, to the business on the 900 block of 8 Street, but when officers arrived wasn't at the scene anymore.
“Police officers quickly flooded the area and arrested a suspect nearby who match the description provided,” Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Crystal Evelyn said in the release.
Jacob James Michael Jones is charged with one count of robbery. He'll appear in Kamloops Provincial Court for a bail hearing, May 1.
RCMP didn't say whether he was carrying a weapon or how much cash he left the store with.
