A 45-year-old Kelowna man is facing charges after grabbing a fist full of cash from the till at a local liquor store last week.
Police were called to a liquor store in the 1100 block of Gordon Drive in Kelowna at around 10:15 a.m. Friday, Nov. 13, to a report of a robbery, according to an RCMP media release. RCMP do not identify the business.
A suspect reached over the counter when the cash drawer was open and grabbed some cash before taking off on foot and eluding police, but he wasn't on the run for long.
RCMP say around three hours later, a man matching the description of the suspect was spotted downtown and he was taken into custody.
A 45-year-old Kelowna man has been released from custody and will be in court at a later date to face potential criminal charges once approved by the B.C. Prosecution Service.
