Suspect arrested after fight involving a weapon on Kamloops bus

A suspect was taken into custody by Kamloops RCMP after a physical altercation involving a weapon took place on a public bus this afternoon.

Officers responded to reports of a group of people allegedly engaged in a physical altercation on a transit bus at around 3:52 p.m. today, Jan. 31, in the 100 block of Victoria Street West, according to an RCMP news release.

One of the people involved in the fight had a weapon. RCMP don't say what kind of weapon or if a weapon was seized.

RCMP said a suspect was taken into custody and no one was seriously injured.

No word from police on what charges the suspect faces.

Anyone who witnessed, captured video or has information related to this investigation is asked to contact Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000 and reference file 2024-3126.
