Surveillance cameras helped catch thieves at the Tournament Capital Centre. The centre will be adding even more cameras as a result of the thefts.

KAMLOOPS – RCMP used surveillance footage provided by Tournament Capital Centre staff to assist in their investigation and arrest individuals suspected of recent thefts at the Centre.
Unsecured property, unlocked lockers and lockers with low quality locks easily removed with tools were targeted. Property stolen included mobile phones, wallets, credit cards and keys.
According to a release issued today, Aug. 19, City staff will be increasing the number of security cameras and enhancing the security system to better serve future RCMP investigations. The new cameras will be higher resolution and expand current coverage.
The centre will also install 144 “mini” wallet or key lockers and 200 additional full-size lockers that will be located in staff supervised areas such as main lobby, Wellness Centre and Athlete’s Performance Centre.
