Superman to stand trial during Kamloops Law Week

KAMLOOPS - If you’ve ever been curious about the city’s courthouse or the players within it, the Canadian Bar Association of B.C.'s Law Week is the chance to learn more.

On Wednesday, April 15, members of the public are invited to the Kamloops courthouse where guests can meet representatives from justice agencies like the law courts, RCMP forensics, police dog services, community safety, ICBC, Crime Stoppers and more.

Kids are invited to become detectives and follow the clues for a treasure hunt throughout the building. The sheriff’s service will provide tours of the building’s cells and transport vehicles while RCMP officers demonstrate how the dog unit can help track a scent.

To cap off the night, the public is invited to watch Superman stand a mock trial on break and enter and willful destruction of property charges. The jury will be selected from kids in the courtroom.

The event will run from 5 to 8 p.m. with the police dog show (subject to availability) starting at 5:30 p.m. and the mock trial beginning at 7 p.m. Free parking is available for the evening.
