Sunshine to start weekend in Kamloops, Okanagan

Sunshine is forecast through Saturday in Kamloops and the Okanagan with cold nights and near freezing daytime highs.

Clouds are expected to move in Sunday with a significant warming trend next week, according to Environment Canada’s online forecast.

Temperatures are only expected to reach -1 Celsius today, Feb. 15, and Friday in Kamloops but could climb to 8 C by Wednesday.

Tonight should be the coldest of the month at -12 C, gradually warming to freezing by Wednesday morning.

The only precipitation forecast for Kamloops is a 40% chance of flurries on Monday.

The same sunshine is forecast for Vernon and Kelowna with daytime highs today and Friday of 0 C, rising to 6 C by Wednesday.

Overnight lows will be in the -9 C range, rising to -1 C next week.

There is no precipitation in the forecast for the next week in Vernon or Kelowna.

There’s a 70% chance of flurries today in Penticton before it, too, clears on Friday and Saturday.

The Okanagan should be cloudy from Sunday onwards but, other than Penticton on Friday, no precipitation is in the forecast.

Normal high temperatures for this time of year are 2-4 C with overnight lows in the -4 C to -5 C range.
