KELOWNA – With flight partner Alaska Air named, Sunshine Foundation is thrilled to join with Papa John’s Pizza BC to officially announce the date for Sunshine DreamLift Kelowna 2015. Sunshine’s 60th DreamLift will lift off Wednesday, December 9, 2015 from Kelowna International Airport.

With a generous commitment by new funding partner Papa John’s Pizza BC, the return of program partner Orange County Sheriffs, the kindness of healthcare referral partners and confirmation of airline partner Alaska Air, planning is well underway and Sunshine’s Dream Team is connecting with local children living with severe disabilities to participate in this one-day unforgettable whirlwind adventure to Disneyland in Anaheim, California.

“Our team is so very excited and proud to be a new partner with Sunshine Foundation and through our Dreams for Kids Day on April 29 see Sunshine DreamLift Kelowna take flight on December 9,“ says Geoff Linquist, President of Papa John’s Pizza, BC. “We can’t wait to meet the Sunshine children participating and see them off on their adventure. It’s not every day you get to see dreams come true.”

April 29, 2015 marks the first annual Papa John’s Dreams for Kids Day to be held at five locations including Kelowna, West Kelowna, Kamloops and Prince George. Participating stores will donate 100 percent of the proceeds of customer orders and of staff wages to the Sunshine Dreams and DreamLift programs. Papa John’s DreamCookie is also on sale with one dollar from each order supporting Sunshine Dreams.

“True philanthropy will be realized on April 29th”, says Nancy Sutherland, CEO, The Sunshine Foundation of Canada. “Staff at Papa John’s Pizza is donating their wages and the participating stores donating 100 percent of proceeds - an incredible gift to Sunshine. We are excited to witness the community come out in full force for this first annual Papa John’s Dreams for Kids Day, a day to make dreams come true.”

Ignited by Geoff Linquist’s community spirit and embraced by a caring team of store owners, managers, district leaders, staff and volunteers, Papa John’s Dreams for Kids Day is all about business philanthropy and caring communities supporting dreams for kids.
