Sunshine accompanied by gusty winds in Kamloops today

Today might not be the day to put out the patio furniture thanks to the gusty winds forecast for Kamloops this afternoon.

There are no wind warnings for Kamloops, but Environment Canada says the city could experience winds east at 30km/h becoming southeast 30, with gusts topping out at 50 this afternoon.

The winds should ease tonight before sunny conditions return for Friday.

It’s shaping up to be a good late winter weekend to begin spring yard cleanup activities as Kamloops should see a lot of sunshine between Friday and Monday.

Daytime highs should reach into the upper single digits, which is around seasonal for this time of year.

The only thing that might dampen the weekend is a 40 per cent chance of flurries starting Friday night and continuing into Saturday in a sun and cloud mix.

The spring like conditions look like they will continue into next week with temperatures climbing in to the low teens by Wednesday, along with mix of sun and cloud.
