Sun will come out on the long weekend in Kamloops

KAMLOOPS - Despite today’s rain, the long weekend is looking warm and inviting.

Environment Canada is forecasting a grey, damp day for today, April 13, with highs of 12 Celsius and up to 10 centimetres of rain. This afternoon some of the cloud cover will clear up, though, and we may see some sun before it sets. We can expect a cool night, with lows around 2 C and a 30 per cent chance of showers.

Good Friday tomorrow will be a more pleasant day, with highs of 13 C and a mix of sun and cloud. Overnight it’ll become more overcast as temperatures drop to 2 C again.

That cloud will stick around into Saturday, which will be grey for the whole day, but a little warmer at 14 C. Skies will clear up that evening though, and it’ll drop to 1 C on a grey day.

Easter Sunday will be the day to get outside, with a high of 16 C and sunny day predicted. Overnight there’ll be a significant drop though, as temperatures fall to 2 C, a difference of 14 degrees.

Next week is looking warmer, with daytime highs around 17 C and overnight lows roughly 7 C.

Even though it’s forecast to be warmer than it has been, the weekend is likely going to be cooler than it usually is at this time of year. Season normal temperatures in Kamloops at this time of year range between 17 C and 3 C.
