SUMMERLAND - The District of Summerland is saying goodbye to its Chief Administrative Officer.

Tom Day has been with the district in his current role as CAO for two years and has 30 years experience with local government. He says he's now looking forward to enjoying life and pursuing other interests.

Day will stay until the end of the year to assist the new council with orientation and the budget.

"Tom will be sadly missed. He has been an outstanding CAO and a tremendous asset for the District of Summerland," Summerland Mayor Janice Perrino said in a press release. "I can't thank him enough."

The current council will start the process of finding a replacement CAO, but the decision will be left to the new council and should take place in early 2015.
