Summerland Action Festival tops weekend list of activities

Race action at the Penticton Speedway returns this weekend with hit2 pass, street stocks and hornet racing.

PENTICTON - It’s Summerland’s turn to shine this weekend as the community sets the stage for the Summerland Action Festival.

The weekend event starts today and runs through Sunday in Memorial Park in Summerland. Activities include fun for all ages, with the Giants Head Run, Man of Steel Triathlon, Actionfest Dance, Actionfest parade and a 72 game slo-pitch tournament.

There will be food and craft vendors in the park, entertainment, and beverage garden hosted by Summerland Kinsmen.

Elsewhere, racing action returns to Penticton Speedway on the weekend with hornets, street stocks and hit2pass racing. Tickets and family passes are available at the gate. Race time on Saturday, June 4 is 7 p.m.
