Crews called to structure fire west of Kamloops this morning

A structure fire in the hills west of Kamloops drew the response of the local fire department and the B.C. Wildfire Service this morning.

A municipal fire department was in charge but members of the B.C. Wildfire Service responded to ensure flames from the structure fire didn’t spread into the bush, according to fire information officer Shaelee Stearns.

“Lots of black smoke,” reader Nathan Ritchie told INFOnews.ca.

A call to the Kamloops Fire Department was not returned.
